Hi to Wilhemina, Marsha & Andy - hope you are all OK and that Hurricane Earl did not do too much damage. Miss you all - the pictures look like you are all doing well. Wish I could come to see you, but Ray & I don't travel together anymore. <3, Linda

I am doing some research on Crooked Island for a school project and came upon this. It really brought back memories. When I was 16, may family visited Crooked Island. My dad's father and step-mother lived there. I even slept in the home of Stephen Griffiths, and his then wife, Dorothy. Wow! I had forgotten so much of what it was like back then (1971). Wish I could go back

there is a picture in your albums with a boy holding up a spiny lobster, the lobster has numerous eggs underneath it, I just thought I would let you know that it is against Bahamian law to catch female lobsters carrying eggs, crooked island is an island of the Bahamas so our laws do apply to both natives as well as visitors to our country. pregnant female lobsters as well as immature lobsters are supposed to be left alone just incase you did not know!!

To: Mary from Boone, N.C.
Hope you're having a great time. I tried walking to Orange Hill, but it was farther (much farther) than I thought. After walking in the dark and being told I was still miles away, I turned back to Nassau.
My week sailing in Abaco (conditions too adverse to sail to Eleuthera) was great.

We are going for a week in late March, staying at Casurina Pines cottages. Hope to do some scuba diving. Can't wait. This is the furthest South we will have been in the Islands, went to Cat last year and really enjoyed everything.
